Repenting Heart

Thoroughbred Racehorse

On September 27, 2014, a 7-year-old mare named Repenting Heart ran her last race, a 5K claiming race, at Mountaineer Racetrack.  She had raced 38 times with lifetime earnings of 27K, but now a racing injury was threatening her life. The dappled bay mare simply required rest and time in order to heal from the soft tissue injury, but her owner had chosen to euthanize her instead. A few racehorse advocates sprang into action, securing a reputable equine rescue organization to take Repenting Heart in and raising the funds to transport her there. Within days, “Heart” was on her way to Race Horse Reclaim Thoroughbred Rescue!

Saving Baby Equine Charity donated funds to Race Horse Reclaim Thoroughbred Rescue for the ongoing daily care of Repenting Heart. Our life-saving donation was made possible because of YOU!...the supporters of Saving Baby Equine Charity! Thank YOU for making certain Repenting Heart will get her chance at LIFE!
